Browncoats table in the Dealer's room

Jo saved me on Friday and the rest of the weekend

Charmed Life was a wonderful neighbor

Holt is a welcomed addition to the local Browncoats and he has the prop hooka used in Inara's room from the Firefly TV show. How cool is that?

Bought books, got books signed, bid on art, won art. Had *fun* at a con, just like the good ol' days. Which meant I spent money. But it was still fun.

Last Browncoats table I'm going to run, and the focus for the next 3 years is going to be focusing on the retirement plan with the help of the DXPowerTeam.

ALIAS

So Tonbo and I are at the local Blockbuster, roaming the New Releases racks, and we come across Alias Season 3. Spiffy, but we haven't seen Alias Season One, and I've heard that's a bit of a must. So we pick up other rental possibilities and then ask the worker guy if they have Alias Season One, just for kicks.

And they do.

And we rent the first 2 discs.

And we watch the pilot. And the second episode. And the third. And the fourth.

At this point we decide we really need to go to bed.

'TOO EARLY' LIST

You know you're coming into the office too early when:

- you have to use your access card to open the door

- you have to turn on the lights in the bathroom

- you see the sun rise while looking out the window of the breakroom

- you're the only one in the office for at least an hour

- the guy that gets into the office before everyone else walks by and says hi

WRONG

Seeing the sun rise, and set, from the same office window.

YET MORE INTERVIEWS

Only a 10 hours day, lucky me.

MORE INTERVIEWS

Yes, another 12 hour day.

woo. hoo.

INTERVIEWS

Went to work early - like be-there-at-7-am-early for interviews involving people across the ocean. Interviews all day for my current project. Nice they are only 30 minutes each. Not so nice they are 30 minutes apart, but I had a limited amount of time to try and cram them all in, so this is my own scheduling I'm living with.

EARLY VALENTINE'S DAY

Had late lunch at the Cheesecake Factory for Valentine's Day to avoid the rush. So far, it's the only place I've found that does a good chicken piccata, which is the only dish I've found that makes good use of capers.

Wandered through the B&N looking for Suki, but they didn't have it. There are 3 volumes which is a nice short series to read and finish. I like knowing all of something is available before getting into it - anime, manga, pre-series trilogies, etc. And it's by CLAMP, so of course it will be worthwhile. :)

It's super cool how many CLAMP titles TokyoPop is putting out these days: Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, XXXholic, Legal Drug, Shirahime-Syo, Wish, Suki, The One I Love. I've also seen Magic Knights Rayearth back on some shelves.

Stopped by the DumpingGrounds to pick up tonight's Stargate Atlantis eps, and made it home just in time for Patryn and SPOONPrez to show up.

Fun day. Fun evening.

Ended early because not only does Tonbo have to get up early, but so do I. :(

CATCH UP

Still here. Brief catch-up blog before going to bed.

Sick for 4 days.
Got better.
Sick again for 1 day.
Tonbo's car dies.
Tonbo gets sick.
Tonbo's car gets new battery.
Tonbo gets well.

I work on internal project.
Tonbo goes to work M-S at 6 am.

Parents have final travel plans for March-April move to Canada.

Saw Elektra. Liked it a lot. Critics have no idea how to view a movie 'based on a comic book'. Wonder what they will do with Sin City.

Looking for omiyagi at Wal-Mart. Remembered why I don't shop there. Encountered the Salamander of Love. Mocked him and then ran away laughing.

Read Utena manga (thanks Patryn!). It's Utena beta. Different from Utena anime. Nothing like Utena movie. Probably just as well.

Finished watching Kino's Journey (thanks Patryn!). Would have liked to see more genki kuni. "Her Journey" was cool.

Started reading Aria (thanks Patryn!). Very enjoyable manga of a cheerful undine in the city of Neo Venezia on Mars. Akari is more outgoing than Alpha of Yokohama Shopping Log, and the manga has the same 'day in the life' flavor. Loved the things that Akari noticed while cleaning her gondola in the first book.

Set up my Vonage router\phone adapter. Got phone number switched. Will now have half the phone bill I did before and free calls to Canada. Very handy starting this year. If you want a free month of Vonage service, email me for a referral link. I can't post it here, because they are very serious about not spamming. I have to log into their site and input an email address and their system sends the email. But it's worth a free month of service for you if you want it.

Checked my DXGold portfolios:
Anfang - put in $170 of my money and TDV is $447.
Niban - put in $244 of my own money and TDV is $438.

... so much for going to bed before midnight ...

SG-1: ALLIANCE

Stargate SG-1: The Alliance PC & Console game just opened up their post-teaser site. More info, screenshots, etc.

They call say "it will be an action based game playable in first or third person. But depending on missions there will be other tasks that will have elements of team tactics, puzzle solving and stealth." Gives me a little bit of hope. Obviously a FPS (first-person shooter) game would sell, but I was hoping for some puzzles (like the MYST series from CYAN), or at least the option to play shooter or puzzle mode. Way back when, LucasArts put out the computer game "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis" which had the option to play in fight or puzzle mode which was very cool.

Yes, the first character I play in SG-1: The Alliance will likely be Daniel.

Or Carter.
